Immortals

The term Immortal encompasses a large number of characters in the Multiverse, and thus, over the eons, those Immortals who preside over knowledge and study have determined and created a loose hierarchy of these entities. This is not a hard-and-fast rule, but instead a general guideline of power levels among the deities and demigods.

Overlords
Entites of primal power, beyond even the might of the gods, Overlords are without a doubt the most powerful of the Immortals, with the ability to defy physical laws and forcibly enter and control any plane regardless of how many worshippers they have on that plane. They are ancient, unknowable, and indestructible - even when their form is destroyed, they come back later (though it may be many eons later).

Major Gods
Major Gods are the next rung down on the Immortal hierarchy, incredibly powerful beings similar to Overlords, but restricted by the Law of Worship, and thus are limited in power based on how many worshippers there are on a plane. Major Gods can also be destroyed - when destroyed, they (like most gods) leave behind a Soulsong.

Gods
Less powerful than Major Gods, but still extremely powerful from mortal perspective, Gods are the basic and middle-tier Immortals. They are more restricted than Major Gods when it comes to the Law of Worship, and they require at least a small cabal of worshippers to exist in a realm - without this cabal, they collapse and are barred further entry into that plane unless a Major God or Overlord empowers them. Major demons also tend to fall under this level.

Minor Gods
The least powerful true gods, Minor Gods are also the most restricted, incapable of entering and interacting with a plane without a substantial number of worshippers or a patron Major God or Overlord to provide them with power. Minor Gods are still quite powerful by mortal standards, but they are closer in their power scope to Scion than to the higher-ranking gods. Many Minor Gods are also called Demigods, and are often subservient to Major Gods to allow entry into the planes.

Planeswalkers
A term which refers to individuals with the power to transverse the planes at will. Planeswalkers are essentially pure will empowered by the Primal Force, who can shape the reality around them with a thought. Many (including the witch Nimue) have tried to ascend to immortality by becoming a planeswalker, but only four hold the title today. The immortal planeswalkers have counted among their number Chaos, Judgment, Isame Mitsugi and Walker. It is believed that the planewalkers draw their power from Yggdrasil much in the way that Yggdrasil itself draws power from metahumans, and that the four of them are weakening the tree. It is also believed that if a fifth planeswalker were to rise up to defeat and unbalance the four existing planeswalkers, Yggdrasil would be destroyed.

Spirits
The least of all immortals, spirits are more powerful than mortals certainly, but they are below the power of even the planeswalkers. Spirits are maniformed and cover a variety of cosmological niches.

Scions
Scions are born as mortals who can wield the power of immortals. They wield the Primal Force directly, just like the many stronger immortals, but they are far, far weaker than even the planeswalkers. Scions are so named because they are almost invariably the offspring of an immortal, though not all children of immortals have such power. It is believed that the Mitsugi are in some way descended from, or at least influenced by, the fallen planeswalker Judgment, but there are no known scions from that family (though they do wield awesome psionic potential). The only known scion currently is Phoebe McAllister (Scion), the daughter of Nicholas Walker. As of yet, she is still largely untrained in her abilities and is far short of her potential.
